BMW reveals the Concept Ninety, a motorcycle from the past

The division responsible for building motorcycles, BMW Motorrad, celebrates 90 years, and to commemorate that, the German company brought a special model to the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, that was inspired by another model that celebrates 40 years, the BMW R 90 S.

Mostly made from aluminum, the Concept Ninety is a modern take on the classic BMW R 90 S, with virtually all parts being similar to the motorcycle which now celebrates its 40 years. Even the orange painting was inspired by the Daytona Orange found in the original bike.

Many of the custom parts were made by bike specialists Roland Sands Design. This company, based in California, was dedicated in particular to the creation of the mechanical parts and engine area for the boxer unit.
