2014 SRT Viper Time Attack (TA) is ready to tackle the ZR1

Seems Ralph Gilles, President and CEO of the SRT Brand and Motorsports, was not too happy to see the new Viper get beaten by the sixth-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 in the Laguna Seca racetrack by two seconds, so he ordered his employees to build a new and faster version of the Viper, and that is what they are bringing to New York, the SRT Viper TA.

Even if Ralph Gilles says “The new 2014 SRT Viper TA is being engineering for the dedicated track enthusiast, who still wants to drive to the track and take their hobby to the next level”, the objective is clear, beat the Chevrolet. And they did it, barely (by less than half a second).

So what does this new version of the Viper bring? Everything that is both optional and sportier from the catalog of the American company. A two-mode Bilstein Damptronic suspension system, Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires mounted on the ultra-lightweight, multi-spoke Sidewinder II wheels, upgraded Brembo brakes, carbon fiber front splitters and rear spoiler, a carbon fiber X-brace, and many more smaller changes.

The exterior is painted in the exclusive Crusher Orange paint with black 2D TA logos behind both front wheels, and black Stryker logo on the front fascia.

Inside we have the same standard premium ballistic fabric racing seats from Sabelt with a fiberglass shell and the black interior combination includes unique Crusher Orange accent stitching on the cloth seats, instrument panel (through the cowl), center stack, console, pull brake, shifter boot, shifter head, steering wheel and upper doors.

The engine is the regular aluminum V10 8.4 liter engine with 640hp and 813Nm (600lb/ft) for a weight of 1522kg (3348lb). Only 33 cars will be made.
